Tooth replacement options

Issues such as bone loss and dental shifting are common for patients who are missing teeth. We offer many advanced tooth replacement solutions.

A variety of tooth replacement options

The team at Beech & Reid Oral & Dental Implant Surgery is committed to helping you achieve a tooth restoration option that is optimal for your health and smile. Dr. Beech and Dr. Reid are highly trained in the process of tooth replacement and will find a treatment that's right for you.

Our oral surgeons can replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or an entire row of teeth in the comfort of our Sunnyvale or San Jose, CA, practice. Depending on which procedure is right for you, you can rest assured that your care and comfort are our top priorities.

The following are the most common options for tooth replacement:

  • Dental implants. Dental implants can be used to replace one tooth, multiple teeth, or an entire arch of teeth. The implant post fuses with your jaw bone, like a natural tooth’s root, and protects the jaw bone from the bone atrophy that typically comes with prolonged tooth loss. Dental implants are permanent and indistinguishable from natural teeth while providing all of the same functions. They are maintained like natural teeth and can restore confidence in your smile.
  • Implant-supported dentures/full-arch restoration. Full-arch restoration procedures offer the permanence and oral health benefits of dental implants by replacing an entire dental arch at one time. This can be done with a few as four dental implant posts, and you will leave our office with a healthy and natural-looking row of teeth.
  • Bridges. Bridges are traditional tooth replacements for one or more teeth that are next to one another. For a bridge to be stabilized, the healthy teeth beside the missing teeth are ground down for the bridge to be placed. This treatment option also requires replacement after a few years.
  • Full or partial dentures. Dentures are a relatively inexpensive tooth replacement option, and some patients prefer them because they are removable. However, many patients find dentures uncomfortable, clunky, and embarrassing. Dentures often require adjustments by your dentist and will require replacements after a few years of use. They also need to be cleaned outside of the mouth with special solutions and brushes, which is not something you have to do for permanent implant replacement teeth.

If you would like to discover the most suitable option for tooth restoration for you or your loved one, please contact our practice for a consultation with Dr. Beech or Dr. Reid. Other options, such as bridges or dentures, may be available to you through your dentist. We look forward to helping you smile with confidence again!
